Our Team

Dr. Leewood “Lee Lee” Still graduated cum laude from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis and holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. She completed her clinical training at The Eye Care Center in Memphis, Tennessee; Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky; and Coastal Vision Center in Fernandina Beach, Florida. Dr. Still joined Effingham Eye Care in 2016 as an associate and became a partner on January 1, 2020. She is a native of Savannah, Georgia, and away from the office, she enjoys traveling, boating, cooking, and spending time with her two children and husband.

Dr. Shawna Strub grew up in Fernandina Beach, Florida and graduated from Florida State University in 2008. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from Nova Southeastern University in 2014. Her clinical training was performed at NSU the Eye Care Institute in Fort Lauderdale, FL; VA medical center in Salisbury, North Carolina and Coastal Vision Center in Fernandina Beach, FL. Dr. Strub has worked in Statesboro and Glennville GA since 2014. She joined Effingham Eye Care in May 2021. Dr. Strub lives in Statesboro with her husband and 2 children. In her free time she enjoys running, camping and traveling.

Dr. Haley Bowles is a 2012 graduate of Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee where she graduated Cum Laude.  Before entering Optometry School, Dr. Bowles grew up in Bulloch County and completed her undergraduate biology degree at the University of Georgia.  She loves UGA and declares there is no better fall activity than watching Georgia Football…GO DAWGS!

After graduation from optometry school, she worked a few years in Memphis before making Hilton Head her home.  She has spent the last 10 years at Hilton Head providing comprehensive visual care, in addition to full-scope management of ocular diseases, infection, inflammation, and trauma.  

When not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her son, husband, and miniature goldendoodle.
